With a small campaign window, people will be posturing and announcing that they will be running any day now. Sadly some supported the new city just so they could run for office or get jobs and hopefully some did not base their support on political or employment aspirations. Do you have people in mind to lead the new city? Can you trust them to eventually move from campaigning to execution and do the heavy lifting to build a new city? Who do you want to run for your mayor and city council? The first election for mayor and councilmembers shall be a special election held on the third Tuesday in March 2017. At such election, the mayor and councilmembers are elected. Our city of South Fulton, GA becomes a reality effective May 1, 2017; do you think we are ready? The two-year transition period that the county will support us with temporary services starts next week with the certification of the election before we are on our own. Are you going to be active stewards of the huge task of building a city or put things on autopilot? Will you identify the leaders that we can trust to do the right thing or roll the dice for your home and family?
